are some pictures of Charlotte's family. Many
have not been published Charlotte's birth family

This is Abraham Shapiro, Charlotte's grandfather
on her father's side. A Russian Jew, he was married to Frieda Crockin Shapiro.
Frieda and Abraham had seven children, one of whom was Louis J. Shapiro,
Charlotte's father. And here is Frieda.
And here are the Bernsteins, Charlotte grandmother and
grandfather on her mother's side.

Left,
a family portrait of the Bernsteins, Charlotte's mother's family. Ella
Bernstein (later Shapiro). Ella is in the checked dress. Here (to right) is a picture of her mother, Ella Bernstein Shapiro, as
a young woman.
Here Below, Ella in late (and imposing) middle age.

A picture of Louis Shapiro, Charlotte's
father.
Louis, who was born in Baltimore had three professions. See Charlotte's
Biography to learn what they were.

Here is an "aunts and cousins" picture, taken in Norfolk,
Virginia, before Charlotte was born.
Like her sister, all the cousins were years older than Charlotte (Leonard,
another older cousin, not shown in the picture above). This made Charlotte the
baby in the family. She didn't like this, often feeling left out. From left
to right: Dorothy Shapiro (later Arnof), Charlotte's sister; Ella Shapiro,
Charlotte's mother; Charlotte's Aunt Lizzie (Charlotte's mother's sister);
Charlotte's Cousin Bluma; Bluma's mother, Charlotte's favorite Aunt Anne. Anne
was the sister of Charlotte's father, Louis, and the mother of Leonard, the
cousin not shown in the photo. more pictures of Charlotte may be
found throughout this site. We (Charlotte and Crescent) hope you will enjoy
exploring.
