In addition, the home page now contains an update on Charlotte’s health and her latest project. And, due to an email from an elementary school librarian, Kimberlee Ent, who so loved the book Over and Over CD got inspired to do a page on it, as well as added info about how to use the book in the classroom at Teachers’ Resources. Also added after a wonderful email from teacher Rebecca B on The White Marble.

January 2001
The sad news of the death of Ned Shank, Charlotte's adored son-in-law, was posted here on the opening page. It has since been removed, but the details are these: Ned lost his life when a truck struck his bicycle on November 30, 2000. He was 44 years old and had been married to Crescent, CZ's daughter, for 23 years. You can see see some pictures of Ned at Charlotte's Later Years: The Family Album, and you can learn about him at a section dedicated to him at Crescent Dragonwagon's web site. You may also meet this sweet, gifted, intelligent funny man through his first, and, sadly, last children's book, The Sanyasin's First Day. And, so deeply was Ned grieved by Charlotte, Crescent, and his many friends that in 2005 Crescent finally put up a new site, about the grief process as she has come to understand it (in part with Charlotte) over time. Please come visit Club Ned.
